Day Support Services
Mobius, Inc.
recognizes the need to have a uniform system of service delivery in it’s
Day Supports Services Program so that the needs of the people served are
met to the fullest degree possible.
In Day Support Services, a variety of specific support
areas are defined. These support areas are then broken down into skill
teaching designed to promote learning and personal growth. Each consumer
chooses the skill areas he wishes to work on in his/her Annual Plan.
Which skill areas focused upon is based on consumer needs and interests,
and staff knowledge of the materials. Current support areas include but
are not limited to: Cooking and Nutrition, Newsletter, Computer Skills,
Art, Money Math and Time, Relationships, Circles, Interest Exploration,
and Self Advocacy.
Mobius’ Day Support services also provides many
opportunities for local community access, integration, and inclusion.
Due to the diverse interests of the people served, a variety of
community options are presented, Current offerings include: Weight
Lifting, Swimming, and Basketball at the local YMCA; Volunteering at the
Animal Shelter, Bowling, Nature Hikes, Lunch Outings and coffee breaks
at local restaurants, shopping at local establishments, and volunteering
at local nursing homes. Staff provide support to consumers in varying
degrees dependent upon the consumer’s level of ability and independence.
