Career Opportunities This program provides Employment Services. Staff first explore career interests with individuals who have expressed a desire to work, and then seek an employer who may have an appropriate position available. Program staff work with the employer and the potential employee to establish a long-term, mutually beneficial relationship. To help the person develop the necessary job skills, job coaching is sometimes necessary; this is also a staff role. During the coaching process, the individual is assisted in becoming as independent as possible and, to this end the coach tries to step back a little more each day. This is called "fading." After the fading process is complete, the coach maintains contact with both employer and employee, in order to address any unexpected needs that may arise.
